Offshore Adventures
HAURAKI GULF, COLVILLE CHANNEL, CUVIER ISLAND & GREAT BARRIER ISLAND
Full day max 20 anglers when fishing and 32 passengers on sightseeing or function trips.
Overnight charter trips maximum 8 passengers.
We can supply rod/reel, tackle and bait or bring your own!
Charter trips are available to the following destinations:
Hauraki Gulf - off-shore islands, work ups, marine wildlife, deep water fishing.
Full day and overnight fishing trips or hire the boat for a private charter/scenic tour and special occasion.
The Hauraki Gulf is part of the Pacific Ocean, which it joins to the north and eastern areas. It is largely protected from the Pacific by Great Barrier and Little Barrier Island at its northern end, and Coromandel Peninsula to the east. The area is well protected against most wind directions except those from the northern parts. Included in the gulf is the firth of Thames offering shelters waters most of the time. The Gulf offers prime fishing opportunities and has many islands including those found on the west coast of Coromandel.
Main target species: snapper, kahawai, kingfish, trevally and john dory.
Colville Channel - off-shore islands, work ups, marine wildlife, shallow and deep water fishing.
Full day and overnight fishing trips or hire the boat for a private charter/scenic tour and special occasion.
Situated along the upper parts of northern Coromandel (Cape Colville) and out to the southern end of Great Barrier Island the channel is well known for fast currents and deep water. One feature popular for targeting pelagic fish is Channel Island and the area is a magnet for fish with large schools in residence. Kingfish are well known to frequent the area right along to Square Top island as well as Lion Rock located out from Sandy Bay.
Main target species: snapper, kahawai, kingfish, trevally and other deep water species.
Great Barrier and Cuvier Islands - off-shore island, abundant marine wildlife, shallow and deep water fishing.
Overnight fishing trips and scenic tours or special occasions.
Great Barrier Island is one of New Zealand's gems covering an area of 285 square kilometres with most of its landscape still in native bush. The marine environment and coastline are some of the most pristine offering visitors the opportunity to explore many off-shore islands, bays beaches with a variety of marine life on offer.
Cuvier Island is a wildlife sanctuary and protected, it offers deep water and the steep cliffs. The area surrounding the island offer many reef systems and pinnacles that are surrounded by deep water and some large fish species inhabit them.
Main target species: snapper, kahawai, kingfish, trevally, deep water species and whatever else gets hooked.
